Hello Ladies,
I don't know if anyone signed up for hosting next year at our last book club gathering. I forgot to send around a sign up. If anyone knows....will you send me an email and I'll update the blog or set up sign ups for next year.

I am going to be out-of-town the first part of December to help my parents. I can have Book Club on Thursday the 15th. Please let me know if this date will work for you. I am sorry to have to schedule it so late in the month and so close to Christmas.
Love you all,

The Scarlet Pimpernel
Hi Ladies! I just finished Scarlet Pimpernel and really enjoyed it! I've LOVED the Broadway musical of it for years, and it was fun to finally read 'the real thing'. I think both the musical and the movie followed the true story pretty well. I have the movie if anyone wants to borrow it after reading it. I also have the soundtrack to the musical... Yeah, I pretty much love this story... Hope you enjoy it!

Good Reading
To all my friends who love to read. Here is a blog written by a 20 year old girl working in a leper colony in India. I wrote about her on my personal blog but think the thoughts are worthy of sharing with you. The link is www.sewpurple.blogspot.com
If you have the time I recommend reading Anne Marie's blog - see to my right sidebar. She is just finishing a 3 week experience of working in a leper colony in India. Anne is a dainty, feminine, pretty, girly girl. She has a heart of gold and has every desire to be and do good. My 3 favorite posts (and are best read in this order)are HANDS written on May 28, I can't even begin to explain her experiences and insight, it's better to just read them yourself. One line that really touched my heart was, "They may not have hands, but they all have gratitude." The second post is LOOK UP from June 1, and the final sentence sums up her tender feelings at the end of this day, "I try to remember to look up to my Heavenly Father who never lets the prayers of my heart go unheard, no matter to what sky I LOOK UP." And the third post is SEEING. Her experience of seeing a small disabled boy who was ignored by all the passing crowds and her response to him just softened my heart. The sentence, "He was made invisible by the visibility of his differences.", makes me want to look more carefully with my eyes.
Many times I have been inspired by music or dance, but perhaps more inspirational is to see someone's heart trying to be good.
I hope to be like Anne Marie when I grow up.

Remember When.....
Aloha all, Marv sent me this picture as he found it while cleaning up his laptop on vacation. He wanted to make sure everyone saw it. Also, just so you know - emails from the blog only go out to 10 people, so we can't count on everyone receiving messages just by posting on the blog. I guess when you have something posted, send an email to everyone so they can check the blog.

Change of Venue
Ladies...Sue has jury duty this week and has not yet been released. To play it safe, she asked if I would go ahead and do book club this month and she'll do it next month. So..... both Janets, Molly and Jenny Rowan have RSVP'd yes to her, and Laverne won't be flying back from Hawaii for the event.... but it would be very helpful to me if you could let me know as soon as possible if you will be able to come or not. (Like tonight...because I need to shop tomorrow.) Thank you for your help on this. I'm excited to have you come...same time... on Thursday. Thanks! Nese.
