Book Ideas
Okay Ladies,
No one has forwarded any book suggestions, which is fine. But if you show up tomorrow without an idea you won't get dessert! Just kidding, but seriously I don't want to be the only one with books to read.
So give it a good think and we'll see you tomorrow.

Book Club this Thursday
Hello Ladies,
Merry December, I know it's a busy, busy time of year. I hope some of you have time for book club this Thursday at 12:30. We will be talking about The Wright Brothers. Everyone is invited to bring a book suggestion that will be for February's discussion. If you want to send a title and a blurb about the book ahead of time, I will make a handout of all the ideas. Please send by Wednesday night. Also, RSVP for the lunch by Tuesday night.
Happy Jingles,
Molly

Thanks Christa
Christa, Thanks for a wonderful lunch and thanks to all for the discussion. I think we really enjoyed the book and the things we learned from the Bible with the help of Brother Wilcox. Laverne we missed you and wish you the best.
Next month we will be in my home and will be discussing The Wright Brothers. It will be a simple luncheon squeezed in between Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts. I've already shared book ideas this year so I'm inviting everyone to bring one book suggestion.
For January our book is Wish You Well by David Baldacci.
See you December 3rd.

Great Literary Works
Today I read a talk by Bruce Hafen and came across this little gem. It's a statement by Arthur Henry King, that says that most truly great literary works will raise some profound question about a human problem, explore the question skillfully and in depth, and then leave the matter for the reader to resolve. If the resolution seems too clear or too easy, the literature is perhaps not very good or else those reading it have missed its point.
I love that - it makes me want to read more and more books that make me think!!!

Winding up 2015
Hi Ladies,
Thanks for coming to Book Club this week. It's always nice to get together. Of course we missed those of you who were out of town.
In October Christa will be our hostess and we will discuss Who Shall Be Able to Stand by Michael Wilcox. We don't have a hostess for December but I would love to have you to my home again. We will be reading The Wright Brothers for that month. Both of these books are fabulous so we are ending the year on a high note.
Happy reading until next time.

At book club yesterday we decided on 2 books....(aren't we ambitious????) Laverne suggested: Food, a Love Story by Jim Gaffigan. He's the comedian that we talked about when we were at Julie's a couple of months back. And Janet W. started a new series that she has liked. The first one is called: Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear. Read one; read both, whatever you have time for!
