New Year

Merry Christmas to everyone.  Thanks to Christa for hosting our holiday book club luncheon.  It was delicious.

We chose the new book for February - I Am Malala.  The book we are reading for January is City of Tranquil Lights.

I've updated the book list and hostess calendar on the blog.  Check it out at ldsbookladies.blogspot.com.  If you weren't with us last week, pick a month to host for 2015 and sign up or send me an email and I'll put your name down.  The months available are January, February, May, August and December.

Last Luncheon of 2014

We had a lovely lunch at Janet Weed's home in October.  Thank you Janet.  Our last luncheon for the year will be on Thursday, December 11th at Christa Fife's.  This will be a potluck so be sure to bring something to share.  Our book for December is All The Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.  The book for January is City of Tranquil Light by Bo Caldwell.  Happy Reading and Happy Holidays.

End of Year Changes

We had a beautiful al fresco lunch at Molly's.  Thank you Molly Jae!  Book club will be at Janet Weed's in October and since Karen has moved, Christa volunteered her home for the beginning of December for a pot luck luncheon.  Sounds like fun!

For August...

We had a small, but nice group at Laverne's today.  Since we skipped June and don't have a book for August we decided to read Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline for August.  Hope you're all having a great summer.

She has offered to provide the movie Out of Africa for our viewing.  When you RSVP to her, please let her know if you are interested in watching the movie during our lunch or staying afterwards to watch it, or if you are not interested in watching it at all.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  I am looking forward to seeing all of you again at our next book club.  We are reading Out of Africa this month and we are also reading the first chapter in the book Women of the Old Testament by Camille Fronk Olson.  The first chapter is on Eve.

So regarding the calendar...I haven't heard back from everyone and so I think it will be easier if we just do a redo and sign up for the year at our next luncheon.  So come with your calendars checked and I will update the blog while we meet, that way I can't lose the list.
