October Book Club
Hello friends! There are 5 Thursdays in October, and I will host at my house on the 4th Thursday, October 24, since the 5th Thursday is Halloween, and I'm also going out of town that day. Hope this will work for everyone! I'll send out an email also. Hope to see all of you! -Eva

Can't Host This Month
Dear Friends,
I am so sorry I will not be able to host book club next week. Matt's family has planned my mother-in-laws funeral for Friday and I will be picking kids up from the airport on Thursday and busy for those few days. I feel bad I've missed so many luncheons in the last couple of years and I love sharing books with all of you. I miss you. I don't know if anyone else would like to host, I'll leave it up to you.

Thanks Janet for a great luncheon! We chose the book, "Escape From Gold Mountain" by Zina Abbott (aka Robin Echolls from Atwater Ward!) It will be available on both Kindle and Nook on September 4th for a whooping $2.99. We're excited to support our local author!
We also touched on the book Fascinating Womanhood by Helen Andelin. The book is still available and thanks to one of her daughters there is still a Fascinating Womanhood following today! She was a member of the church and wrote the book to help her as she taught a Marriage class while living in the Central Valley back in the 60s. So Anne....you now know what you can get your daughter for Christmas! N.

Missing Book?
Hello Ladies,
I’ve missed the last two book clubs so I just checked the book list and I think were missing a book, but I could be totally off!!! The one from Julies lunch should be for May.......was there a book choice for April? I feel like we changed books from earlier?
Thanks, just I’m just trying to catch up. I love sharing books with all of you sweet ladies.

New Book Choice for February
Ladies....I hope it is okay with you all that I have chosen a different book for February. It is called Rook and it is by Sharon Cameron. She is a Young Adult author. I have just finished rereading it. There is NO swearing....other than, "He cursed under his breath" or "He let out a string of curse words that would have shocked...." The story takes place in the future after the earth's magnetic poles have shifted and wreaked havoc with its inhabitants. The author called it not a rewrite, but an "hommage" to The Scarlet Pimpernel. It is widely available at the library (9 copies at different branches, 2 are checked out at present), Barnes and Noble, Nook, Kindle and Audible.
Of course, if, on Thursday you decide as a group that you'd rather read something else that's fine too. Enjoy! Nese.
