Hi everyone, I am enjoying Gone With The Wind. It really takes you to a different world doesn't it? Thank you for the music on the Blog Nese, what fun!. I'm mostly writing this to see if I can figure out how to post a comment---ALSO to tell everyone that Book Club will be at me home in May. I traded with Janet because she is not able to do it. Keep reading, we should have a great discussion--Sue

Oh, I LOVE the music!!! So cool. I am really loving Gone with the Wind--it's so good! I just finished the halfway point, and thought, "Are you kidding me?!!! I'm only halfway done?!!" I can't believe how long it is. As far as I'm concerned, the second half is just really a sequel. :) Sue--is book club going to be on the 21st or 28th? I need to know right away so I can figure out a babysitter. Thanks! Can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteWendy....I've only got 100 pages left...I don't want it to end. The second half is the hated, dreaded Reconstruction! I don't know if Sue will see your post, so...Book club will be on the 28th. I know, because I just let Sue know I would be out of town and would miss the discussion! ARGH!!!! I wonder if people would be willing to go to lunch and discuss a second time. I'm glad you're liking it!
ReplyDeleteI just breezed through the first half and then got really bogged down. Scarlett's self-centeredness and lack of understanding and compassion for anybody around her (including her kids) really depressed me and I had to take a break. Ashley's whimpy attitude rubbed me wrong this time also. I used to walk away from the story with the confident hope that Scarlett and Rhett would work it out eventually but as it stands I hope he does not fall for her again. As a matter of fact I got so riled up Roger had to remind me that those are only characters in a book.
ReplyDeleteI won't be able to make it book club either, sorry!
Just think Nese...a few months ago we couldn't even post script on a blog and now you've posted music to go along with the book we're reading. Way to go girl!!! I too have gotten knotted up over Scarlet's self centeredness...Nese tried to put a different perspective on it for me and I'm continuing to make inroads into the book...but must admit it's not my favorite. I will be at book club...anxious to hear other takes on the book!
